In Baba’s own words…
“If you spread your palms with devotion before Me, I am immediately with you, day and night.”
“However oppressed and troubled one may be, as soon as he steps into the Masjid, he is on the pathway to happiness.”
“It is My special characteristic to free any person who surrenders completely to Me, worships Me faithfully, remembers Me and meditates on Me constantly.
“You see, mysterious is the path of action; Though I do nothing, they hold Me responsible for the actions which take place on account of Adrista (destiny); I am merely its witness. The Lord is the sole Actor and Inspiration. He is also most merciful; Neither am I God or the Lord; I am His obedient servant and remember Him often. He, who casts aside his egoism, thanks God and trusts Him entirely, will have his shackles removed and will thus obtain liberation.”
Baba to Upasani Maharaj, when the latter asked for permission to leave Shirdi, “I will personally conduct you to the place. You do not know the road, and you may have no money to buy the ticket. I myself will buy a ticket for you. I will give you such a pass, that the train you take will lead you to your destination without any halt anywhere.”
“If you make me the sole object of your thoughts and aims you will gain Paramartha, that is, the Supreme Goal”
“If one devotes his entire mind to Me and rests in Me, he need fear nothing for body and soul. If one sees Me and Me alone and listens to talks about Me and is devoted to Me alone, he will reach God (Chaitanya). He who worships Me as Nitya, Suddha and Buddha, comes to Me.”
“Believe Me, that though I will pass away, the bones in My tomb will give you hope and confidence. My tomb will be speaking, moving and communicating with those who surrender themselves wholeheartedly to Me. Do not be anxious that I will be absent from your life. You will hear My bones speaking about and discussing your welfare. But remember Me always, believe in Me, heart and soul, and then you will benefit greatly.”
“I require no door to enter; I have no form or extension; I always live everywhere. I am the controller of all the actions of the man who trusts Me and merges into Me.”
“See, how I have to suffer for My devotees; their difficulties are Mine.” Baba to Mrs. Khaparde about her son’s plague.
“If a man remembers My name with love, I shall fulfill all his wishes and increase his devotion. And if he sings earnestly My life and My deeds, him I shall beset on all sides. Those devotees who are attached to Me, heart and soul, will naturally feel happy when they hear these stories. Believe Me, if anybody sings My Leelas, I will give him infinite joy and everlasting contentment.”
“If My stories are listened to, all diseases will be gotten rid of. So hear My stories with respect and think about them, meditate on them and assimilate them. This is the way to happiness and contentment. The pride and egoism of My devotees will vanish, the mind of the listeners will be set at ease and if you have wholehearted and complete faith, you will be one with the Supreme Consciousness. The simple remembrance of the name “Sai” will do away with sins of speech and hearing”
“Be wherever you like, do whatever you choose; but remember this well, that all you do is known to Me. I am the Inner Ruler of everyone and I am seated in their hearts. I envelope all creatures− in the movable and the immovable world. I am the Controller − the master wire-puller of the show of this Universe; I am the mother – the origin of all beings − the Harmony of the three Gunas, the propeller of all senses, the Creator, Preserver and the Destroyer. Nothing will harm him who turns his attention towards Me, but Maya will lash or whip him who forgets Me. All beings-the visible, movable and immovable world- are My Body or Form”
“Our Karma is the cause of our happiness and sorrow; therefore put up with whatever comes to you. Allah (God) is the sole Dispenser and Protector− always think of Him; He will take care of you. Surrender to His feet with body, mind, wealth and speech, and then see what He does.”
“God is great. He is the Supreme Master. Allah Malik! How Great is God! No one can compare with him. He creates, supports and destroys. His sport (Leela) is inscrutable. Let us be content to remain as He makes us, to submit our wills to His. Allah Rakhega Vahisa Rahena”
“He who carps and cavils at others, pierces Me in the heart and injures Me. But he who suffers and endures, pleases Me the most.”
“To God be the praise. I am but the slave of God. Without God’s permission, nothing can be done by me.”
“He called out to His devotees and said that He would only be angry with His devotees if mothers kicked their children and if the sea turned back the rivers. He felt he was a servant of his devotees, always stood by them and responded to them whenever they called upon Him. And thus He always longed for their love.”
“How can they who worship Me, who think of My stories and My life, and who thus always remember Me, be conscious of worldly objects and sensations?”
